Yours went 129 with tires and some other mods stock tune from what I see. Did yours or others(besides Jamie) go 129 factory stock?

I'm saying its a 127 car with a great driver and good air. But it seems like you're saying its faster and back it up with non stock times.

Please refer to post #52.

C&D just posted a 119 trap on a regular GT350.

Please refer to post #52.

We are going round and round. I quoted post 52 saying that you were comparing stock to non stock times. Then you stated there are a some runs on run flats that were faster. I have yet to see consistent runs faster.

I like the c6z. It's much better the c7z I feel. But the c7z drivers argue this point but generally leave when asked how.

Got grunt, the c6z's are great, and the valve guides are problematic.

Not to pester you but you had a filter and tune, that's worth 30-40whp on c6z's, which is easily worth 2-3mph.

Yes, there have been some faster than 127 on runflats. One was posted by GOTHEMI on page 1. What I have been saying all along is that a competent driver should be able to squeeze 126-127 out of one in good weather and track prep.

I know, that is why I disclosed that. My car made 472 RWHP to be exact. Like I said, I'm a ford guy that occasionally buys GM cars :rolling: but in this case I know first hand how fast the C6Z can be, especially from a roll.

Hemi posted Jamie's run. Who was the other?

I agree on the 127 stock for the zo6. Which is what I've been stating all along.

Car and driver just posted a 119 for a gt350. Their z06 mph have been 120-124.

I'm content saying driving being equal, the gap is 5mph.

I'd bet given the conditions, an r will trap 123+ some day, and a 350 will hit 121-122. Edited.

Air and conditions being healthy, the average c6z is a 122-126 car in average to good hands. Great hands have gotten the 127-128 range.

Someone told me to buy a 350 and go race a z06. If I did, I'd expect to lose by about 1.5-2 cars in a 40-120 roll. I've never said that a gt350 is winning any roll races with z06's. I've said its about 1-2 cars behind, and 5mph by 125.

I used to own a C6Z. With filter and tune it ran 11.4 @ 126. So, maybe 124 stock?

I would say stock cars at the same track, C6Z would probably be 4-5mph higher trap speed than the GT350 from what I've seen posted so far.

No surprise really, and doesn't really matter IMO. Over time I've learned there's more to a car that make it enjoyable than just the numbers. (I now drive an old F355 and it's a lot of fun).

GT350 is bad ass. I desire one because of it's looks and unique engine. I love high revving V8's so I know I would enjoy driving it. Wouldn't matter to me if it couldn't go toe to toe with a C6Z or whatever else.

Low 11s @ 124 mph car vs low 12s @ 117 mph car having a close race, seems legit!

I think the GT350 will go quicker than 117mph. Give it some time. The power to weight is very similar to my old bolt on white coyote and I was going 122.xx. I think a good driver in normal air shouldn't have a problem going 120-121.

But yes stock for stock, c6z will definitely pull it. That's one thing I miss my c6z for, was just acceleration. Car was brutal in stock form.

I am yet to drive a gt350. But being a z06 owner ide like to say the c6z is quick but it's not crafted by God. It's over rated. And not as fast as most think. You can't trust anyone with these cars. "Stock" could mean intake, 75 shot and tune

I don't trust any time slip or video off YouTube.

For 2006, the performance was mind blowing, not so much for today's standards because everyone seems to have caught up or closed the gap. Anyways, one of the reasons I sold mine was due to quality issues and concerns. I sold it as the warranty was running out and the guy I sold it to had the motor grenade due to a dropped valve a year later. I dodged a bullet there for sure.

LOL, that could be true for any car.

Im not using 127. 120/123 will be the best the GT350's can trap correct? Opinion of course. If so then you must compare that to the best a Z has trapped thus far. Thats 130mph by more than one car.

If car and driver got 119, no. You are likely wrong.

In private hands at Cecil in great conditions, like the z06 needs to run 127-128, a gt350 will probably run 122-123 eventually, and a 350r around 124-125. It not certain we'll see such a run because far fewer people will have 350r's than c6z's. Less cars means less passes, less practiced drivers quite possibly, many variables.

Car and driver ran 120-124 with c6z's iirc for comparison. The hero 128-129 and attainable 127 were all in private hands.

How can the R with more down force and more front grip have a higher trap speed than the gt350?
