gt500 muffler swap pics

picked up a nice used set of factory 2012 gt 500 axle back mufflers. They needed to TLC and got polished up and the rear of the muffler cans painted high temp flat black.

here are the mufflers as I picked them up

installed. yes I know the pass side was hanging a bit lower in this pic. I had to loosen the muffler to mid pipe connection and pull it down and then retighten to get the tip moved up toward the bumper. ran out of light for another pic.

what a PITA swap. these mufflers are stupid heavy from the factory and hanger mounts being hidden takes the help of a second person. All in all I couldnt be happier with the swap. should have come with these from the factory. makes the rear sound as good as the side exhaust with the plates removed. surround sound exhuast note!

Awesome job. I'm thinking of doing the same thing instead of getting an aftermarket AB. Mainl because I think the car is loud enough with the baffles removed. Couldnt imagine how loud it would be with a Magnaflow set up or something. I'll be on stand by for the video clip
