Well it was finally time to upgrade the stereo in the Shelby.

I have been wanting to upgrade for years, but used most mod money other places. I also added the FRPP rear seat delete kit to help counter some of the added weight. I didn't weight all the added and removed parts but I think I'm really close to breaking even.

The system includes

Alpine 535 DVD headunit
Focal access 3 way door speakers
Focal access 5x7 rear speakers
JL 600/1 and 400/4 amps
JL 12w6 subwoofer

Here are a few of the install pictures

I built everything my self and did all the fiberglass work. Had my buddy who owns a stereo shop install all the components

Let me know what you guys think.

Cool! I have wanted to do a stereo upgrade also. Just have no idea about the components I should use. I know very little about stereo components?

Hope you don't mind some questions.

Does the head unit work with Sync?
How did you do the SVT logo on the rear mat?
Did you wrap all of the trunk with dynomat or just portions?

Really like the install, thanks for the photos.

I'm not sure about the sync since I have a 07. I think there is a module that the installer can purchase to make isn't comparable with sync, but I heard they aren't cheap.

I cut the SVT logo out of an 1/8" peice of wood with a scrol saw and glued it to the floor before wrapping it in carpet. When using the adhesive for the carpet I had to stretch it slowly around the logo untill it adhered to the edges and held its form.
I made a completely new trunk floor out of wood since the factory floor is a flimsy peice of wood.

As for the dynamat I did the entire spare wheel well and rear brace near the bumper. Then certain areas near the fenders that seemed flimsy

Turned out nice Zak. I'll give it a good inspection on Friday to see if it's up to my standards.

Really clean install. I really like how the stripes on the box match the stripes on the car.

Way to go Zack. Spend money on one mod to justify the next needed mod LOL. I tell myself that all the time

Great job as a result of awesome craftsmanship! Pretty much @ the level of Overhaulin.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

What harness adapter did you use to install the head unit? I've got a complete system waiting to go in, but haven't found a harness yet (admittedly, I haven't tried very hard).
