For me it's the price GT500

My question is more along the lines of "will it work?" since it's designed for a heavier car with more weight over the nose.

This is what I've heard as well. I had all the parts from a Super Snake conversion car and was debating the same. Springs would be useless. Rear sway bar from SVTPP car is actually the same as what's already on a standard GT (non-Brembro/track pack car). Struts would probably work ok if they were cheap enough but for all the trouble of tearing your suspension apart why take the chance, just get some good aftermarket stuff.
