"So I don't post often but I was at Woodward this past weekend. I love all American muscle cars so I was excited to see the new C8 and the GT 500. On the night before the cruise I happen to catch up with a GT500 on the street, had a great conversation with the engineer (I know who he is) while we drove 2-3 miles next to each other. I was really impressed with him, a real car guy who knows what he has and appreciates it. He also wasn't afraid to get on it a bit. In fact we may have had an opportunity to do a 20-60 roll on Woodward... My car has 3.09 gears and I was on my MT ET Street SS's (Was in sport mode) so from a 20 I can drop it straight to the floor with zero wheel spin, the GT500 on stock rubber will spin some but in my case the two cars were dead even, neither pulling from the other. I did have a passenger and it is a full weight car, including sunroof, his was a base car. Next summer is going to be fun and these two will probably come down to traction and the driver. I found the DCT's to have amazing shift speeds and they make the car sound good as it goes through the gears but in a drag race I'm not sure they are gonna be much better than the ZF in track mode. On a road coarse I'm sure it's a totally different story.
Anyway.... Just thought I'd share. I got a couple of pictures of the car (Don't want to post because I don't want someone to see it and get on him about it), all and all a fun weekend as usual. Worth the drive from Chicago"
IMO a 20-60mph roll isn't enough to make a fair assessment though.
