GTO question

My buddy has an 06 Auto GTO. He has full exhaust and a CAI. He told me that if he adds a stall converter he could run a 12.1. He showed me a video of one who claimed those mods running a 12.1 and an 11.0 on the bottle. Is this really true. Can they be that fast with that little mods?

yes but i doubt 11.0 on the bottle unless its a ridiculous shot. he might see 11.5.

with Pacesetter LTs(havent purchased) 150 shot(i have) MT et streets(have) and 3600 stall (getting next week) i should easily be in the deep deep 11s

Full bolt-ons with a tune would give him 370-380ish rwhp. With a good stall and drag radials 12.1s-12.3s for sure with a great 60ft. He would have to have a big shot for 11.0s but the 4L60e would puke spraying thru the shifts after some good use unless he gets it built.

We have a guy in Jax with an 05 auto that has full bolt-ons, cam, stall, and a 125 shot and ran 10.9s on Mickeys.

Damn, I didnt know they respnded that well to that little bit of mods. Thanks for all the help guys.

No problem. It is easier to make the autos faster in the 1/4 with a nice built auto and a fat stall! Quicker ETs with less power.

I had a 06 A4 with cam/headers/3400 stall and I only got 1 run with the stall setup and I ran a 12.4 @110mph, the car was defintly, defintly capable of 12 flat. I made 408 rwhp 367 rwtq. Depending on what stall he goes with and what tires he is using he can dip into the low to mid 12's N/A

A one time friend of mine had a 06 GTO. Claimed to have 440HP at the crank with similar mods as described above w/out NOS. I pulled hard on him in the GT500 only sporting exhaust and mine runs mid 12's stock....

Those are crazy mods on your A4! What type of cash did you drop into those upgrades? I'd love to beef up my daily driver!

i've got a buddy with a WS6 that runs 12.4x's on his big-n-little with his N/A set up. which is full O/R exhaust pretty decent cam, i'm not sure of heads though...and on the bottle (150shot i believe) he runs 11.1x's...so it's possible, but the GTOs are heavier than the F-bodies if i remember correctly

yes it can run a 12.1 but i would say mid-low 12's would be more accurate on a day to day basis

With tires and a good driver, sure enough. But, like Doc said, the tranny isn't going to last.

or the axles either :(

I'm already afraid, I'm cutting low 1.7's on my short time which is pretty decent for a stock converter car, I know I can get 1.6s if I launch harder, I'm just scared of the trans and the CVs

My friends stock GTO A4 on just a handheld predator tune was pulling 1.8 / 1.9 60fts all day long at Cordova this past weekend... it's insane how well that thing was moving out.

my best 60' bone stock has been a 1.86 followed up with a 1.87 so far. I rolled out pretty well for being stock.

with being completely cooled down w/ coolant @ 100* and 130* at the line; I ran a 7.60 @ 85mph at Mobile Dragway 1/8th (60' short).
