Alright guys I am going to the track in 2 weeks. I am running 275/40-17 MT drag radials. I would consider myself a decent driver but doubt I will be power shifting.
any ideas what kind of 60ft I can expect?
mods are in sig.

Also any advice will be highly appreciated. As this will be my first time to the strip in this car.

No offense, but I hate these posts.

It all depends on how you feel like 60'ing the car. The rest doesn't matter so much. Drag radials require good prep, as a slick is more forgiving. Nothing wrong with drag radials just gotta get be more precise with them.

Have you raced anything before? Can you do a 5 second 2nd gear linelock? Will you cool the car down for 45minutes after driving it there?

Im gonna guess 11.8 1.79 60' 125 trap speed.

No offense silvrsrt, but I have to totally agree with Corey on this one........Your performance could range from a 10.5 to a 13.5. There's a million different scenarios that could play out for you at the track. There's a few good drivers out there, a tone of medium ones, and few guys that just plain suck.

Go to the new Timeslip Database to get an idea of what other folks with KB's are running.

Here's what the MACA twin screws have done, some of these guys are pretty good............

I don't know what your problem is..

I have taken a BONE STOCK 03 (smaller injectors, less power, no LSD) srt4 with a 75 shot of nitrous went 12.29 @109 ALSO that was my first time ever on slicks in any car and it was my first pass.

as for this comment..

"Can you do a 5 second 2nd gear linelock?"

I don't know what that means so I don't know if I can do it.

I get what your saying there are to many variables to guess what my time will be. I guess I should have said what is my car capable of running in a perfect situation.

still dont know why you have to be a dick about it

guys I have a cobra that makes 571rwhp 534ftlb stock weight with a built solid rear. Say I go to the track and pull a 1.7 60ft once again stock weight with 571rwhp 534ftlb perfect shifts you have to have a better ball park than 10.5-13.5

Why don't you read up as much as you can on how to setup and launch these freakin crazy cars and then after you hit the track up in two weeks, post up a new thread with your results and about 30 folks will post up giving their opinions of your driving and your Cobra. We have NO IDEA whatsoever how you will do!!! But hope you do well and are satisfied.......

I will narrow it down to 10.90 to 11.30 if you're pretty good with the manual. Do a nice 5/6 sec 2nd gear burnout and roll out till it grabs. Pull strait to the line with no dryhop. The 1st launch after the burnout is the best so don't waste it with a dryhop. Stage as shallow as possibe. Bring the rpms to about 5k or so and when the 3rd amber hits come off the clutch fast and smooth while laying into the throttle. Hit your shifts at your desired rpm(I don't know where your car makes power) and go collect your 10sec. slip. Good luck to you sir.

thanks a lot man! I am going to try exactly that! assuming my car will go quicker than 11.49 I am only going to get 1 maybe 2 trys at it before they give me the boot!

If your track is that strict then make your first couple of passes full 1/8 mile and then shut it down. This way you can make more passes and get some data to work with. You can figure your 1/4 mile time from your 1/8 times. Then when you are about ready to leave make a full 1/4 mile pass. If they kick you out then it won't matter, you were going home anyway.

I think they will give me a warning then If it do it again they will give me the boot. My first pass I am going to go all out then make a couple 1/8 miles and until it cools down and I feel the car getting faster than I will go all out. :-D

I think you are taking his post the wrong way. Keep in mind if you have been around this site everyday for the last several years you end up seeing several hundred or even more of these type of posts.

These cars are not all that easy to launch coupled with track variances, DA's, etc. creates a huge spread in run-times. Which makes it extremely difficult to guess what a car / driver should run.

I get that you are psyched about going to the strip - best of luck and let us know how you end up.

Also any advice will be highly appreciated. As this will be my first time to the strip in this car.
