So, I did something I don't normally do, and bought a used gun. I've gotten screwed every time... never failed, but I feel like this time may be different.

I picked up a Gen 3 Noveske Diplomat pistol in 5.56 NATO. It's got a 7.5" barrel from the factory. A blade was added, as well as a Holosun solar powered red dot (which seems pretty neat). The grip was upgraded to a soft MOE grip. The previous owner also installed a CMC "drop-in" single stage trigger.

All I did was yank the CMC trigger group out and install one of my Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun triggers, which is a single stage trigger and tuned down to 3 lbs.

I guess I'll hit the range later this week to see how it shoots. With any luck, the 20+ year long curse will be broken with this new toy. If it does shoot well, I'll ditch the blade and get a nice rubber adjustable arm brace.

Sorry about the poor pictures. Snapped a few off real quick while it was leaning against the closet. Once the sun comes out, I'll post a better image.

Nice acquisition !!! I have a holosun red dot on my AK and am very pleased with it. Wound up trading a bare DPMS 308 upper for it BNIB to my buddy.

Thanks! I'm excited to see what it will do at the range. I am going to toss the upper on one of my SBR lowers which has a really nice competition 2-stage trigger. Once I know the sight is dialed in, I'll pop it back on the factory lower and just let it do its thing. Should be a good time.

I love the red dot. The whole solar power thing is a nice gimmick for a range toy or casual hunter, etc. Seems like a really nice alternative to an AimPoint Micro at 1/3rd the price, but same look, feel and battery life (if you even use the battery LOL). I don't know anything about them though. Have to do some research to find out how rugged they are.

I have the non solar one but I’m very happy with it and it’s taken a beating in my AK. My other AK has a primary arms red dot and that’s another nice piece for not a lot of money.

Ordered 7 new handguns last week, hadn't purchased any firearms in a couple of years and got a bit carried away LOL. I should be able to pick them up at the end of the week and will post a few pics. Nothing really special, just 4 Glocks and 3 Sigs.....

I bought a P226 Legion about a year ago... maybe a bit more. I was/am really disappointed.

I had a P226 Elite in .40 SW and sold it for a standard P226. The beaver tail was snagging on everything and it was my EDC. I took the standard, added a SIG SRT to it and life was good. Target shooting 8x11 steel targets at 100 yards, NP.

The Legion came out. Figured since I switched to a G17 for my EDC, I may as well get a 9mm P226 Legion for a range toy. There were supposed to be improvements to the frame, slide, sights, slide release, grips, trigger, guide rod... basically, everything.

Reality, the beaver tail still sucks even though it was an "improved design". The X-Five frame job was terrible, cutting my fingers up. The front sight dot fell out. The "improved trigger" was identical to my SIG SRT. The worst part was, when the weapon recoiled, there is some kind of a balance issue that is causing the weapon to pull up and right, making the return to target very slow and awkward... and the round would hit low and at 8 o'clock.

I locked it in a bench vice and it would knock the bullseye out at 10 yards, but everyone who I asked to shoot it, all had the same reaction to it. They all complained about the weird recoiled and mentioned the weapon needed to be sighted.

Sent it to SIG and spent $180 for them to tell me the weapon was accurate and working as designed.

I took the grips and the low-profile slide lock off it, put them on my .40 SW P226, and the Legion hasn't left the safe since.

Strange. I have a P226 Legion and I've had the opposite luck with it. It's one of the best shooting pistols I've had (not that I've had 100 or anything, but closer to 25).

I wonder if there were improvements made from the original P226 Legion to a later generation or something?

I got my legion last March and absolutely love it. I’m surprised to hear you had all those issues. I also have a West German 226 and threw a srt in it after shooting the legion and liking that short reset. Luckily I’ve had no issues at all.

I'm glad to hear it's working out for you. Wish we lived closer so you could see what I am talking about first hand.

While its possible there are generational differences, I just chalked it up it the likelihood that I am just use to my p226 standard and moving to the modded frame of the Legion is just enough that it affects me as a shooter. Although, with friends confirming my issues, I doubt it.

I'll say this... SIG Sauer is, by far, my favorite brand of pistol. So I will likely never get rid of it.

Their rifles are pretty damn good too. My M4 clone is a Gen 1 516 Patrol, pictured with the Dip I just picked up. It has over 30,000 rounds through it. Several thousand rounds of simulated auto fire using bump stocks and a binary trigger. It still shoots 1.5 minute groups.

I put a Geissele trigger in it the day I bought it, a suppressor mount for my can and left everything else stock. I only had one problem with it stove-piping, and it was because the ejector rod was dirty... not broken. Best damn weapon I own.

I am really surprised too. I have owned more than a few of their firearms and they typically do awesome work.

That SRT is hard to beat. No doubt.

I would love to get my hands on a German SIG. Even if I can just try one to see how it shoots. I hear nothing but rave reviews of the German SIGs.

I've had a MPX and MCX. I'd really like to get one of the 716 DMRs.

I sold my MPX pistol to a very good friend of mine. After owning MAC11's, and an MP5, as awesome as the MPX was, I always felt a little disappointed. The weapon was awesome... just a psychological thing for me. I may buy the rifle version and see if I like that more.

I had a 716 Patrol. If you can get the DMR, I would recommend it. Great shooting gun.

How do you like that light ? I grabbed an inforce wmlx gen2 for my CZ scorpion. Was thinking about the aplc for my g19

So far it’s great, a friend has one on his g19 and has had no problems which lead me try one out. I like how small it is but it definitely shows on the brightness compared to bigger lights. If I have good luck with this one I’ll get another for my cz p01.

I’m also curious about the olight mini, it was only 48$ but I couldn’t get the website to cooperate long enough to place a order last Monday.

I have a tlr3 on my cz p10C and saw the olight and was curious about them also. I carry a streamlight at work so I’m partial to them. I noticed the Emergency Service Unit at work ( Basically swat team) has inforce lights in the m4s and that’s what made me inquire about them.
