I've got an NX wet kit on the way, and plan on running a small 50 shot. I've had some people tell me I need to retard my timing with nitrous, is this true? Also what plugs do you recommend, I am running autolite's right now. Thanks

for plugs, i use Ngk Tr6s.. and jump to a 75 shot atleast, that is where the fun is at. with any nitrous shot, no matter the size, i recommend a tune.

No that is not true. You will be fine with the 50 shot.

These are a few options you have when you get your plugs.

MOTORCRAFT

PART# / HEAT RANGE
AWSF-32C / stock heat range - copper plug
AWSF-22C / 1 Heat range colder - copper plug
AWSFA-12C / 2 Heat range cooler - copper plug
AGSF-32C/ Recommended for FRPP heads(not sure on heat range)

NGK

PART# / HEAT RANGE
TR-55/ 3951/ Stock Heat Range
TR-6/ 4177/ 1 Step Colder
BP7EFS (PN - 3526) BR7EF (PN - 3346) two steps
R5724-8 (PN - 7317) two and a half steps
R5724-9 (PN - 7891) three steps
R5724-10 (PN - 7993) four steps

AUTOLITE

PART# / HEAT RANGE
764s / Stock
AR103 / 1 heat range cooler I would get these with your setup
AR94 / 2 heat range cooler
AR93 / 3 heat range cooler
AR92 / 4 heat range cooler

CHAMPION

PART# / HEAT RANGE
YS-59C / -3 or -4 below stock heat range

DENSO

PART# / HEAT RANGE
IT16 / stock heat
IT20 / -1 heat range
IT22 / -2 heat range
IT24 / -3 heat range

i can understand that, but i would make sure you keep the 75, 100, 125 jets close, you will want to keep upping the shot. i know i did. :lol1:

i ran a 175 shot on my cobra for about three months never detonated once i let a friend borrow it and he missed a gear over revved it and spun a bearing and when i took my motor apart my pistons had no chips or white marks or any sign of abuse on them...i didn't even have a tune i had denso iridium plugs two ranges colder and put my fogger infront of the maf sensor and took my vacuum line of the fuel pressure regulator...i think 175 is the max and i wouldn't recommend it but i think 125-150 is perfectly safe on those cars...i ran 150 for about a year plus and it never slowed down

50 shot is good to strart out with. i have used ngk tr6's for about 3 years and never had a problem with them. if you get it tuned you will have to retard the timing 1 degree for every 50 shot. at least thats what i did
