My Federal taxes were rejected because of an Economic Recovery Payment of $250 that was supposedly paid to veterans, railroad retirees and people getting SSI. has anyone else gotten one of these ERP's? i think its garbage that they give you your own money back as a so called stimulus and then they tax it again!
To clarify, i wasnt eligible for one since i didnt start getting any VA benefits till the ass end of 09 but my wife received one. It affects the making work pay credit of 800 if you are married. So now our refund is $250 less than originally anticipated and the sad thing is its the money we worked for and paid into anyways! the shit bums who dont work and live off govt assistance willingly (not cause they absolutely need it, there is a difference) get thousands back without paying a dime into a system funded by workers. bullshit. There should have been something saying we dont want it if its gonna be taxable income.
