One of my headlights went out this morning and this is the first vehicle i've owned with H.I.D's and was wondering if anyone could give me tips on troubleshooting to see if it is the actual H.I.D. unit or if it's just the headlight bulb. Thanks for the help guys!

Check the ballast if its working or not (you always hear a lil buzz when you turn on the head lights). Try switching the light bulbs around, if it still doesnt turn on, it means your ballast is gone.

You dont need to touch the bulbs at all. It does have the plastic thing in the bottom you know :poke:

You remind me of a fat kid trying to make himself feel better.
It was advice that during his handling of the HIDs he does not accidentally touch the bulb. Not "OMG THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT IS BY TOUCHING THE BULB"
I guess I know nothing... Just installed HIDs hundreds of times.

Dont touch the bulb with your hands. Wash your hands before you touch em.

Lets break this down.
Dont touch the bulbs with your hand : implying, do not touch the bulbs with your hands.
As an added precaution.
Wash your hands before you touch em : implying : before you take out the assemblys, wash your hands.
50% of people who change headlights touch them. Dirty hands destroy bulbs.
End of story.
are you that bored?
