Hard wired radar detector

Do any of you have radar detectors hard wired? If so, where did you mount your radar detector and what did you connect the power to?

Mine sits on my dash between the gauge cluster and clock, and I use the cigarette power adapter. The connection keeps coming loose and causing the radar detector to power cycle. It's getting annoying so I thought I'd try here for some suggestions.

I did basically the same thing with my V1. It is next to the rear view mirror on the right side. the power cable runs across the top windshield molding down the a pillar and into the fuse box. The power line is still fused. I had to remove some panels, but it was worth it!

When I move the detector to another car, I just use the cig adapter.
