I was ****ed by PODS back in 06 when I had my house built. The story goes like this. I was having a house built less than 10 miles from my current house that I was selling/moving from. I called PODS and gave them the address of both places (pick-up location of current house, and address of newly biult home). PODS came dropped off a POD, we filled it and they came back to pick it up to store it at their storage facilty. Now keep in mind I was paying a monthly storage fee with a set amount (less than $100, I can't remember exactly, it's been about 9 years) to have my PODS delivered to my new house. During the time my house was being built, PODS closed the storage facility and moved my belongings without my knowledge to a new storage facilty farther away, which in turn, moved my POD out of my "home area". This made the delivery charge close to $700, when it was supposed to be less than $100. I went all the way to corporate level trying to get them to honor their contract and I think they ended up giving me a couple hundred off, when it wasn't even my fault. I still to this day get pissed off thinking about it. All I can say is if you use them, have them store the POD at your new house location if possible. **** PODS!!
