So in high school I started building a 02' GSXR600 powered sandrail in metals class (2005). I got all the Steel tubing for the frame, race seat, custom 5 point harness donated from various companies, picked up a 02' GSXR600 complete(minus radiator) for $400. Didn't have funds for the parts that cost money (rear end, A-Arms, rack, etc) so it has been sitting since then.. just got the engine out and starting to mess around with it because I want to get it all going this summer. Does anyone have any suggestions what to do before the engine will be ready to run again. I will replace oil, removed spark plugs and sprayed some WD40 in there and going to let it sit a couple days to break the possibly rusted piston rings from the walls. New spark plugs and oil/filter will be going in. Does anyone have any experience with engines that have sat for a while? Anything is helpful. Thanks!
