Has anyone ever tried this? I'm trying to get rid of belt slip on my 2.7" upper and was wondering if anyone's had any luck having a machine shop cut grooves in a pulley.

No first hand experience but from what I've read its HARD on belts. Have you looked into griptec pulleys? I've read and heard good things about them. They grip and dont tear up your belt
