Hey .. I am researching head gaskets. I want to make sure I put the proper one on my car. It is 11.1 c/r with twin 62s, will max out mid 20s on boost and e85. Will be on the street a lot so which head gasket is a good one for my set up? I do have arp head studs...

Felpro MLS gaskets is what I use
Part # 26222PT (right)
Part # 26187PT (left)
My last motor was around 800hp, my current motor should be more.

How does anyone feel about the

Cometic MLX Head Gasket

I run cometic gaskets on mine. With studs, I run 22 psi on the street and have a 26 psi setup too. No issues, been on here for 4 years now. My CR is 10.3 too.

These are the part numbers I run.
C5118-040, C5119-040

My block has been decked twice, so my pistons are proud 0.005”, so the machine shop recommended 0.040” thick (0.035” after assembly) for my setup.

Sounds like either the MLS or MLX will be fine.. thanks

By the way I forgot to ask, does these gaskets require you to retorque them after so many miles?

Stock is .036. Gasket thickness should be dictated by your piston-to-valve clearance….if youve had the heads or block decked you may need a thicker gasket.

Romeo iron block suggested torque is 100ft/lb…for aluminum blocks 85 ft/lb…you can go more but could potentially fracture the block - its happened to others.
