Just got this Boss and I'm seeing head temps reach 220* just cruising. Is that normal? I just sold a 2013 GT and the head temps averaged around 207*and hardly ever seen it go above 210*.

Thats a little excessive. I've seen mine at 215 but that was when I was beating the hell out of it for an extended period of time. I'd have that looked into.

Sitting in traffic (major accident) 237 with inlet 170 and ambient 105
Track day session 240 (end of 25 minute session) ambient 95.

Thanks for the replies. The car has 2500 miles on it now. It just seemed a bit high compared to my other car. I took it out again and it was around 205-207 on the highway but at the stop lights and heavy traffic it reached 219. I'll give the dealer a call Monday.

Seems totally normal compared to mine. Whether I was driving around in 65 degree weather this winter or 115 this summer, most of the time on the road it's reading 205-210. In slow traffic I may see 215 or so. Only time I saw higher was on a completely new paved road, bumper to bumper traffic, no wind, and 115 outside. It slowly crept up to 235. Since I've see 240 on the track, I didn't worry too much. 2 minutes of driving back at city speeds 35-40, it was back at 210.

Yesterday was real hot so I could see that. stop and go traffic I've seen 209-217. My inlet temp is usually 1-2 degrees higher than the temp outside when cruising on the freeway. In the city driving Ive seen 129!

Looks like I have nothing to worry about. It was in the High 80s and humid yesterday. I was only concerned because my GT never got above 210. The GT had long tubes and good tune so thats probably why it ran cooler. The Boss will get the same soon. BTW. I am loving this Boss.

Do you have a 2013 LS? It's hard to tell by your avatar

Here in sunny "dry heat" Arizona the head temps usually run somewhere around 220 degrees....the last few days its been over 115 degrees and when sitting the head temps are 230....once moving they will drop down between 210 and 220

Anybody have any data on head temperature after the MMR cooling mod?

Just did a quick search and read on the MMR head cooling mod thread. Members noticed up to a 10 degree temp drop after the install. What I got from reading the whole thread is that the MMR head cooling mod should only be installed if you have a moderately bolted-on or FI car. Because of the unsure fact of warranty void or not.
