Header/steering shaft problems

Just got done putting my headers in and now my steering shaft isn't connecting to the rack. And I can't find or figure out how to extend it back out. All help is greatly appreciated

Seems simple but did you try pulling it? It's a collapseable unit so it's supposed to move in and out. A simple tug should get it done. Also it only slide onto the rack one way
