Greetings y'all,
Just wanted to let you know that the full, 2.5-mile, 14-turn road course (and all of pit road) is being COMPLETELY resurfaced for the 2017 racing & driving season. Milling off the old, tire-eating, worn out surface began on Oct 11 and the first section of new asphalt went down on Oct 17. The goals it to get all the paving done (two separate, 1.5-inch passes) done before the end of October so that the track surface has all winter to properly cure.
We are now taking event date requests from the various driving and racing organizations. So, if you have a favorite group that you run with and want to see them put on an event on the newest asphalt in the midwest, send them to the Heartland Park Topeka website for rental information and the event date request form.
