Height of coupe springs vs vert?

I'm just putting my rear end back together after replacing diff/subframe/CA bushings and am ready to cut the set of coupe springs I got for my vert. After reading numerous posts I'm going to go with 1/2 coil to start and may need to cut an additional 1/4 to 1/2 if it doesn't drop enough for my tastes.

Anyway...I went to cut the spring last night and was shocked by the height difference in the springs. The taller spring on the right is the vert spring. I'm guessing this is just due to the rate of the springs, vert is taller because it compresses more?

No clue why this is sideways...opens correctly on my desktop.

IIRC vert springs are softer. Little more weight to deal with and usually people with verts just cruise. At least those are my thoughts.

My vert sits lower in the rear than my coupe. When I measure from the ground to the "B" in COBRA on the bumpers, there's almost a half inch difference. All else being equal, and with stock springs. They do have softer springs all around than the coupes.
