Help! Identify this nasty noise...sounds like rod knock but cant pin it....

was driving normal and all of a sudden this nasty hammering noise....no check engine light but it sounds like its coming from the tail end of the tranny but then i go to the front of the car and its pretty noticable...Car has 167,000 on it and is pretty much stock except for a pulley tune

Damn man that sounds like something clanging around in the bellhousing/ tranny. I would pull off the inspection cover and see what you can find

Drain your oil check for metal. My first thought was a tension-er It sounded like it was ringing through the exhaust.
