Went to the track for the first time last night with the new axles(DSS level 5's) and tires(27/10.5/15 MT ET STREETS) and regardless of how I launched the car i.e. 3,000 to 5,000 rpms the best 60 I could manage was a 1.66. I thought that the car was spinning but on the last pass my dad stood next to me on the line and I launched it hard at 5,000 and he said it didn't seem to spin hardly at all. My suspension is stock except for the removal of the front swaybar and cut springs! What would be the best thing to do to lower my 60 to low 1.5's. I'm over 600 rwhp and I thought with the size tire I am running it would be easier! Thanks in advance.

Stephen!

With that kind of power I would definately go to fully adjustable rear suspension with adjustable shocks as well. Maybe even consider an anti roll bar. That's what I have on mine minus the anti roll bar. Wish I had more data for you, but my first and last trip to the track with that setup is when I blew my motor. I did manage a 1.63 that day, but nowhere near what I think it's capapble of. If you don't already have them, get some full lenth subframe connectors as well. I still need to get me some too.

Ahh, my bad, for some reason I thought you had gone to a solid. Best 60' I had on the irs was a 1.59 with a 5500 launch on 26x11.5 et streets. The irs actually hooks pretty well with a good tire. I had the same set up as you with cut springs and no swaybar. Here are a few vids of some of my launches.
http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=40nve54 (1.59 60' and 11.03quarter)
http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=40aus6c (1.63 60' and 11.14)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTzwt_fXSBM (1.63 60' and 10.95)

The first two vids are preport and the last one is after the port, but I missed 4th gear. That's why the mph was low.

Cut springs up front or just the rear? Cutting springs increases the spring rate so if they are upfront it will make it harder to transfer weight. If your car is not spinning then launch higher. Once it spins then you need to work on the suspension. Most likely a looser front end to help get the nose to lift and the load moved back towards the rear. That and get as much weight out of the front of the car as possible. But get it on video. That is the best way to see what the suspension is doing. -Mark
