I was taking my midpipes off to replace w/some x-pipes and I got all the nuts off the manifolds except for the passenger side next to the starter. It broke free easy like the others but a few turns into it it got hard, I believe it's pulling the threads off of the studs, I saw a few shavings come off. I can't tighten it back up or get it loose, maybe 3/4 of a turn either way. So my question is what should I do? The nut is starting to get stripped.
Should I take an impact to it and try to break the stud? How hard is it to fix the stud? I suppose I would have to take the manifold off then?
Whatever suggestions you have please let me know. I don't want to pay someone to do this if I don't have to.
