I am trying to get my caster camber plates off to instal a strut tower brace. It looks very straight forward but I can not remove the bolt off the front strut to save my life

I already blew up one allen key

Anyone have an original idea?

I have put a pair of vise grips on the piston rod in the fender well before... but that's for stock struts i'm going to throw away.

Soak it with pb blaster or equivalent and then try again. Could use a torch to heat up the nut as well

It might have worked better if you tried loosening the nut instead of the shock shaft. The allen slot is there to keep the shaft from spinning while tightening/loosening the nut.
