Ok, I have a serious problem here, any insight would be appreciated.
For whatever the reason, I no longer can catch 1st or 3rd gear, and Reverse seems a little shaky too. It just all of a sudden happened a couple days ago, and at first I could still catch the gears if I babied it, but now no joy whatsoever.
The shifter slides into gear with absolutely no problem, but when I start letting out on the clutch it throws it out of gear rather forcibly for 1st and 3rd, and reverse works but I can feel the gear engage as I come out on the clutch. No other gear has any problems at all.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?? Synchros or a bent shift fork maybe? I could understand why the 3rd gear synchros would be damaged, but it slides into gear so easy. I CAN NOT understand why the 1st gear synchros would be shot as I have no reason to harass 1st gear like I do 2nd and 3rd.
