I've never had any issues with mine. I've got the kit devised by BMR Tech/ModularSpeed and sold by On3 Performance that eliminates the crossover and moved the thermostat inline in the upper hose(s). I stuck a 180 Chevy thermostat in it with no holes drilled, and used a GT lower hose and just ran it a nice aluminum overflow tank I purchased from HPP (comes in their TT kit).

I've never had trouble with it warming up, or trouble with pressure. With a 3-core radiator and no A/C it consistently runs 178-180*. Maybe I'm just lucky?

My setup looks like yours OP. But I'm running a 160* t stat, with that same tstat housing, and I only have one small hole drilled. I also had to run a smaller water pump pulley due to vortech clearance.

I've blown a few hoses off when I don't have the clamps tight, and I floor it before it warms up. As long as I don't go 6k+ before the t stat starts to open, I don't have any problems.
