My sister has a 1996 Saturn SL2 with a manual transmission and for the last couple of days when you take off it is extremely sluggish. It revs loud but takes off really slow. Well this morning she called because she was driving to work and all of the sudden her car would rev up, but not move. Could this be the clutch or something else?

i would say clutch.. or the rear main is leaking and has covered the clutch with oil causing this.

If it is a hydraulic clutch check the fluid in the slave cylinder, it may need filled/bled. Regardless the clutch/slave is the culprit. Did she smell anything burning lately????

Usually if a slave cylinder goes bad the clutch will go to the floor and stay. If it won't engage or does engage but not pull it's the clutch.
