I recall being at a Web Site some time back, and they were selling a different type of rod to hold the hood up. It bolted right in, and was much more secure than the "bent one." I usually open my hood when I get home, to let the engine cool-off (without toasting everything under the hood), but if it's in the driveway I get concerned when the wind is blowing! The stock '95 hood is so heavy, if it ever fell on it's own, you'd probably hear it a block away.

Anyone else ever see this new "hood rod?"

Nope. Its called a "prop rod" by most places if you're looking for one. The only time I let my hood open to cool things off is in the summer or after I lean on her a little bit ;)

Unless you're in a windstorm, you should be fine. I've never had a problem with the wind blowing the hood down, the rod fits in that little groove and kind of "locks" in there. But let us know if you find what you're looking for, I'm curious!
