For those of you that took the blanket completely off, what did you do with the ground strap that was connected to the blanket and the passanger side fender? Does that strap serve any useful purpose? Thanks

It is there to meet FCC regs about a car's electronics causing interference with AM signals. Those who have removed it don't report any AM signal problems.

Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and liv
drive under any power line with the AM radio on and you'll get interference if you dont have the hood pad.

dont know who told you otherwise but its certainly not a person without a hood pad

Very easy solution. Don't drive the car in the rain.
When you wash it, simply throw a towel over the filter before you start washing. Works every time. :rolling:
