I'm trying to remove the lower intake. I have the blower/intercooler off the car. The lower intake seems like it'll pull right out, but I think there's a wiring harness fastened to it in the back. It's extremely tight back there (big hands) and I can't exactly see what's going on.

Anyone remove their lower intake? If so, what's back there that's holding it down?

Thanks.

Dan

Just fyi...a friend broke one of the gold bolts off in during my Apten install. I'm attempting to fish it out.

Make sure you have all the bolts out. The ones on the back are obscured.

There is a PCV vacuum line on the bottom of the lower. You will be able to pull the intake up enough to slip it off. The lower has to come up pretty straight. The plenums are contoured to the head so you can't come out a too much of an angle.

Pull as much of the wire and air line looms up out of the way. Use tie wraps to hold them out of the way. It will come out. It takes a little effort. I've done two so far and the last one was pretty easy after you know what to look for.
