how do i take a ford mustang rearend apart because i broke the passenger side axle in half and need to replace it and was needing help and i have a 2004 gt heres a pic

We took the axle out of the cobra but it was indepedent. Jack the rear end up put jack stand under it then jack the axle up put two more under it than start to take the upper control arms and what ever else is connected to the axle off. Pull the cover remove the c clams the gears and the shafts.

To just remove the axle is easy. Jack the car up and put it on stands. Open the diff cover. Take out the big "S" spring. spin the carrier till you see the C-clips. Then use a magnet and take out the C clip for that side.

Any shop manual or the like from an auto parts store will tell you this and in much more detail. I just went over the basics.

You should be able to push the axle inwards a little bit (this helps with removing the c-clip) and a magnet or pilers should pull the c-clip out.

The S Spring you just pull out with pliers.
