how do you know if ur clutch is bad?

somtimes its hard to put gears in. espcially 1st and Reverse.
and it seems like i have to press the clutch in alot more now.
after I release the clutch from any gear. My clutch pedal vibrates.
Once and a while I can also hear my throw out bearing from a dead stop.

what should i do? get a knew clutch? i dont want to mess up my tranny.

Thanks guys. I never changed the clutch before it has 70k miles i dont know if the previous owner changed it. I bought it with 50k miles.

Hmm, i took mine to a Tranny shop today and I have a leaky rear bell housing on my TKO 600. They think the clutch may be bad too. I have no pedal vibration, but sometimes it is hard to put it in gear. More so after driving it hard. But I don't think it feels weird otherwise. When they replace the seal on the bell housing, they are going to take a look at it. Good luck.

Are both of you on the stock quadrant? Replace it immediately and get a firewall adjuster and you'll notice a big difference in pedal feel.

I have the Steeda Red or "Race" quadrant and firewall adjuster.

Small hands help with the install of the quadrant. Its under the dash above the gas pedal and its a HUGE PIA go get to.

Yes. It made my pedal easier to push faster and smoother.

It will also help the longevity of your clutch.

I have the UPR. Basically the same as the Steeda, but a little cheaper. And it's not red.:rolling:

I just replace my quadrant with a UPR, and with a UPR firewall adjuster.

Also replaced the cable with a stock Ford cable.

At the same time, I threw on a Tri-Ax.

NIGHT AND DAY difference!

I got the speed release. I had a steeda double (or triple) hook release a while back and from memory, I can't tell much of a difference.

But the speed release advertised exactly what I wanted so I picked it up.
