How long do you think this will last?

I would compare that plug to some of the others. It looks like a piece of the ground strap is missing; the tip appears to be jagged and short. Also, the piece of metal on top of the piston in the other photo looks like it could be the piece that's missing.
ill definitely check and compare, wow thatd defintley suck if it is the tip of the plug, crazy the car is completely stock, stock tune everything. Good eye sir.

here's a another look at cylinder 8 cylinder head side next to the valves, looks like chewed up pieces of pistons to me. pretty sure this is what's causing that ticking i was hearing. I will say i did find a short on COP that's for cylinder 7 when i went straight home after hearing the ticking. I'm wondering if that wire grounding in and out messed with the voltage to the fuel system therefore not giving necessary flow to cylinder 8..

been driving the car, so far no issues other then the annoying state ref bs, but heres another look at cylinder 8 today and the spark plug, im really thinking that cop wire that was shorting defing caused the inital problem.

Damn! Hopefully you passed the commie ref station. It’s a crappy thing that a shorted coil or plugged injector or who knows causes a complete tear down. Guess it’s time for a livernois motor? Register in AZ and go big?

Well my friend it failed only because the PCM coding was off due to having a SCT tuner regardless it being back to OEM spec and tune, have to get the PCM reprogrammed by Ford, i actually went last Tuesday they said the PCM came up as a 2000 cougar....they didn't know if it would run after an attempt to reprogram or calibrate...then with the "Clean air act" EPA screwing up vendors and future aftermarket capabilities anywhere in the U.S not to mention cylinder 8 having damage i have no clue really what to do... the ****er runs good for now I'm just going to say **ck having plates and trying to be an abiding citizen..
