Alright, since we're being technical about things and arguing details/semantics, I'll play along. Let's take a look at your structure: So . . . all you did was say I was right? Ok. By "something similar" I was indeed speaking of the oil crisis. What Obama is doing now is very similar, he's just using a different crisis. I'm sorry I didn't give you a reference point and list my sources, I didn't realize I was in class . . . As for the loopholes, there IS the paying money thing (which I personally don't care about) however, if you live in Cali like me and don't know what I'm talking about when I say "loophole" then it's better that I stop talking about it. ;-) Do me a favor, go look up the word "fallacy" then go research something called a "straw man argument". None of that had anything to do with what I said. In the end nobody stopped driving V8's and they didn't disappear. Everything else that happened had nothing at all to do with my point so great job in making up a phantom point then refuting it. See above comment. Look up "Ad Hominem" I did read the plan. Nowhere in the plan does it say that V8's and other high displacement engines will be outlawed does it? Nope. Was that my original point? Yes, it was. All I said was that no law will prevent me from driving my V8 therefore I'm not worried. Taking that into consideration (that being my actual argument and not one you made up), this portion of your post is simply a waste of time and energy on your part. Let's look at the finer points of this though: You currently own an evo right? Therefore I think it would be safe to assume that you know what the car is capable of. This means that you know (as do I) that there are indeed 4cyl and 6cyl engines that can and do make more power than V8+ engines. Do you see people running to sell their cars? Nope If it's the money that's the only problem then it's not something I'm worried about. There is a reason S Corps exist and there are many many many MANY ways to bypass taxes related to vehicles. Even if somehow I couldn't, then I'll pay to play, such is life. The 35mpg requirement you speak of is actually required as an AVERAGE across the fleet of a manufacturer. Looks like I may have read the plans in a bit more detail than you eh? So then you agree now that MPG IS an indicative of being environmentally friendly? So then you're contradicting your previous statement/insult? Got it. If you couldn't figure out that me saying "my vette got good MPG that's why I'm getting another one" was a joke and you're on a performance site (for SVT no less) then I don't know what to say to you. I suppose that's why you got your Evo? Also, an Ad Hominem again (since you like being technical). Seems like you're no educational scholar yourself are you? Yes it can be reversed, however, I highly doubt that it will be. This is actually all you should've said from the start. Since I never mentioned anything other than "they can't take them away" there was nothing else to really argue since I was right and they really CAN'T take them away. This would've saved you (and me) lots of time. Instead you went off chasing phantoms . . . I agree (and knew as soon as he was elected) that this is what he's going to try. It isn't going to work with me however. "I'm sorry Mr. Obama I can't afford anything other than my lowly 454 LS6 Chevelle you wouldn't hurt me for being poor would you?" :(:lol::lol::lol::lol:
