My TR6 plugs have been in for about 4k miles now. The car still runs fine and pulls hard, but I think I'm going to change them out just because it's so darn cheap (under $20 bucks). How often do you guys replace yours?

I check them after every race day during season to see how they are burning. When they show the slightest wear, I change them.

Only $1.58 each from Baxters . . .

You have changed your plugs 3 times at 7500 miles?!

Hopefully just because you went to NGK then went with Denso, and not because of wear. I can't imagine them wearing that fast.

I read somehwere that says the fatter tip plugs like the NGK-TR6 are less prone to pre-ignition and detonation eventhough they may make a little less power in comparisons to the Denso iridiums. But I'm sure with proper fuel and tuning, that shouldn't be anything to worry about. So can you guys who've switched to Iridium plugs tell the difference? I'm sure it probably fires a lot better on the upper RPM ranges! I know I'm probably lossing HP due to my TR6 plugs mis-firing on the upper end....

I'll go through one more set of TR6 then change to iridium next.
