How to correct speedo with OBD2 handheld?

Anyone know how to correct a speedo for an 01 cobra using an OBD2 handheld device? I am basically looking for step by step directions. Thanks :banana:-Dan

Using the sct you change it by revs per mile when loading tune under options.

Look up your tire online to find revs per mile.

I'm pretty sure 01's still use mechanical speedo.
I thought you had to change the speedo gear on anything older than 05.


I could be wrong though.

speedo gears were used on V8 Mustang up through 1998. 1999 was the first year of the electronic speedometer in a Mustang. 1996 - 1998 T-45 transmissions had mechanically driven speedometers, the 1999 T45 had an electronically driven speedometer. Like I said, get a speedcal and be done with it. Speedcal allows you to precisely calibrate your speedometer based on tire/rim size and the gears you're using.

So you CANT do it using an OBD2 handheld? I know about all the other ways to do it. I just have a OBD2 that i could use if need be...
