How to remove storage area under armrest?

After much searching, I could only find examples with Fox bodies, Foci, and Lightnings. I want to use the center console's power plug and route the wire through the storage area into the cabin. I'm guessing that I should be able to remove this storage bin dealie but before I curiously break any plastic, is this even possible or does the entire console have to be removed?

If I have to go that route, is this console attached through the floorboard?

Simply remove the felt liner that sits in the bottom of the center console. That will reveal the (2) hex head bolts that retain this section of the console. If you just want to remove the internal tray, then it snaps out of the main console after removing those screws. It helps to lift up a little on the entire console so that you can push the internal tray out from underneath.
