HOW TO: Upload Pics ! ! !

All done at www.angelfire.com ... Free webspace ...

First of set up an account.. Just email address and name and some other stuff... Then hit the link that says activate account and start building

That link takes you do a upload feature.... You can do a couple differant things here.. But just to upload your pics just goto file upload... Hit the browse button.. (You can also delete index.htm and it'll make a dir of just hyperlinks.)

It'll open a window that shows the files on your computers hard drive.. This is just going to transfer and upload that file to the servers hard drive.. I select 01stang.jpg

It has now been uploaded to the server and can now be viewed..
http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/nthomas1999/ my webspace is this url... After I uploaded the pic it's now in that dir on there server... http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/nthomas1999/01stang.jpg

It has now been uploaded to the server. You can link to that picture by doing this [img ]http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/nthomas1999/01stang.jpg[/ img] and it'll show up.....

You can also from the upload screen erase index.htm and when you goto your url http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/nthomas1999/ and then it'll just be a default dir with hyperlinks to the pics..

Hope this helps a little.. Wanting to get more how to's up especially when using Cute FTP ! I've been getting a lot of pm and threads on how to do this .. Commetns suggestions will be much appreciated... Not a teacher or anything but would like to help answer some questions with this how to..

I guess angel fire has a thing that stops them from viewing doh ! Hmmmmmmmmmmm................. Well that sucks ! LOL... I use hypermart but that isn't free anymore ! Hmmmmmmmm..........

Mine is doing the same thing it does here when I try to upload pictures, just basically freezing. Do the files have to be jpg or can they be bmp? Does that even make a difference? If so, how can I transfer them from bmp to jpg?

jpg file size is smaller than bmp.

Are you sure when you upload pictures it freezes? I'm guessing you are not waiting long enough for the picture to upload. It may take a minute or two, depending on the size of the file, for it to upload.

You are limited in the file size to be uploaded.
