Curious to know how SVTP would respond to this.

Let's say you are waiting on something. Let's say it is automotive related. Let's also say that a lot of other people are waiting on the same thing. And it is taking a while. The business providing this decided to send out a bit of tersely worded e-mail that essentially is saying "chill out, we will get to you". Said e-mail isn't addressed to just you, it is addressed to EVERYONE waiting on this something, and it is not a BCC. The TO's include every single person. And there are hundreds of them. So now everyone has everyone else's e-mail address.

Seems like a bit of privacy invasion to me as my e-mail address has been given out to several hundred people I do not know without my permission.

Proper response? Yes I am deliberately leaving the business out, and no I will neither confirm nor deny who it is....yet.

The others, probably nothing. However, that assumes that all their computer systems are secure and they don't get hit by a piece of malware or virus that would do something. Yes, I've had that happen before.

I was speaking from a legal sense. Legally you have no expectaion of privacy with an email address.

As for SVTP, I very rarely give out email addresses and could probably safely say that I've done so less than 10 times in nearly 5 years. I believe all of those were those of scammers.
