Hey guys, Tommy from Sweden here.

I have a tune from Brenspeed for a Steeda pulley and Steeda cai, and the car sometimes throwing lean codes P0174 and P0171 at WOT. I've checked so that it is tight around the intake. I have also disassembled and assembled the intake to be sure that it is tight without leaks. Despite this, I get the codes. Brenspeed has also made a new tune in order to ensure that there is not something wrong with the tune.

Yesterday when I installed my KR mufflers, I saw a line that was almost flat in a bend. It looks like a fuel line but I'm not sure. The diameter of the line is 13 millimeters and where it is almost flat is 6-7 millimeters. Could it be this that makes the car not getting the right amount of fuel? The bend is next to the spare wheel well. Could it be this that causes the problems?

I was not able to insert images here so I link to them instead.

The car is a 2008

Hey guys, Tommy from Sweden here. Thttp://repairpal.com/OBD-II-Code-P0171-and-P0174hose are
Both oxygen sensor codes too lean in bank 1 and bank 2. Maybe the tune is not good because that should not happen with a tune.

I wouldnt run it with those codes, thats for sure. My bet would be on the tune. Call VMP and get a tune and see if that fixes it (I bet it will).

Hey guys, as wonderful as it is for you to suggest us, the OP should give Brent at Brenspeed a call. He'll know what to do. Call him or email him and let him know the codes. He'll have you look for leaks, too, but it's not painful :)

Thanks again folks.

I have been in contact with Brenspeed regarding the codes and they told me to sheck the intake for leaks and i have done that and could not find any leak. They even made me a new tune to rule out any tune interference.

The flat line in my pictures, is it a fuel line?? And can this be causing the codes??

I have a vmp 2, 5" pulley waiting for install but i want this codes sorted out first.

double check all vac lines:

CAUSE 1: PCV Tube's rubber elbow (where it connects to the intake manifold) is torn open and causing a major vacuum leak.

CAUSE 2: Intake manifold gaskets that are leaking vacuum.

CAUSE 3: Fuel pump that's going BAD, but hasn't completely fried yet.

CAUSE 4: A dirty (contaminated) MAF sensor.

CAUSE 5: An exhaust leak right before the pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensors.

CAUSE 6: BAD pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensor.

OP- if you don't mind me asking, what was the actual cause? I know you said you switched tunes and it fixed it but what about the tune was off? I have the same two codes right now and have been waiting to get on a dyno to check my A/F ratio to make sure it's not/is a vacuum leak, but there aren't any in my area. It's about a 4-5 hour drive to the closest one... Thanks!

Was that line on the passenger side over axle tube? If so its very common ..its a evaporation line that will make your filler neck puke gas upon filling...happened to me a while back...just cut it down and problem solved. Not sure if that is your issue but just something to look at.

Had those exact codes when I first installed my 1st generation SS hood. Codes where caused by air turbulence affecting the MAF. Had to restrict some of the air flow and all is good now.

Not sure what was off with the tune, i phurchased a VMP 2.5" pulley, colder sparkplugs,170deg thermostat and ordered a VMP tune at the same time. Maybe the brenspeed tune was on the lean side, i don`t know. But i do know that the problem is gone.. :-D
