..but is it safe for me to run a catback and intake without a tune? I will be getting pullies and a predator in a few months. I just dont want to wait that long.

Like Sonic03inSC said, the factory tune is very rich so you would gain some power with a tune, but as everyone has said, a tune isn't necessary (unless you aren't planning on swapping to a smaller pulley and want that extra power now).
