The green Tundra and the blue Silverado in Corbic's post look awesome I think, although the Silverado is modified.

That's the only input I have really.

Techs getting paid, gm footing the bill…I wouldn’t be pissed as long as it was being taken care of… ford had my 03 apart several times chasing the tick, driverside head replaced twice and pass side for shits and grins.. didn’t really bother me as long as it was fixed.

But you gotta a point, some trophy wife twat isn’t probably too impressed with her 100K escalade status symbol on a lift..
Well maybe you wouldn't be pissed, but my buddy sure was when his 5.3 dropped a lifter and left him stranded 3 states away with a small trailer full of live stock. 2020 with 9K miles on it.
Luckily it happen during business hours and not on the weekend. Dealer was great, and everything was covered...but 3 weeks of down time, they had to rent their own truck to haul the trailer home and then take time off to go retrieve the repaired truck. He traded it shortly after.
I would hope there have been revisions to correct this by now....?

Went though this a while back but it seems all brands of trucks have issues these days. I ended up with a 3.5 20' F150 and at 28K miles I have phaser rattle at cold start and the 10 speed trans is a joke.

Good luck...

I hear ya.... I LOVE my 2018 5.0 F150...but I have an intermittent flare between the 1-2 shift, first shift of the day, when ambient temps are cold. Pretty sure the CDF drum sleeve may have moved, but haven't been able to replicate it at the dealer and my powertrain warranty ends this November. So I may be eating a 10R80 in the future.

Nope. Just marching towards EV.

Iirc even the few 5.3/6.2l that had the chip removed for deactivation still had failures.
GM even had a tsb to replace both sides under 8k miles if one side failed.

But:
pricing is RETARDED on these
6A sucks
will rust if not already
interior sucks

pick your poison

Had a 2014 Silverado 5.3 but I got T-boned. So many problems with those these days

Should have never sold my 2015 F150...

Had a 2015 6.2 GMC the 8 speed was a mess

I could get 21-22mpg in any of those trucks best case. Country road type stuff.

Nobody's talking about Ram?

I really like my Grand Cherokee but I'm not that would transfer over to a Ram truck

Not looked much. I know it's the engine in the LS500 and doesn't have a submerged oil pump belt nor cam phasers, lol.

trust me the oil pump belt kind of scares the shit out of me. My dad is currently at 165k miles on his 2016 5.0 F150 and he's looking to replace it past 200k miles, I don't like the idea of picking up something with that belt.

I have such little trust in most new cars and trucks currently on the market, I don't think anything is meant to last more than like 5 years at this point.

That sucks, I have more hard downshifts than anything else, especially in lower gears.

Factory powertrain is 5yr/60K miles?

I will say..one thing I love about this forum is that yeah it's a Ford Forum but for the most part people here are Car/Truck Enthusiast and not just FORD Enthusiast. I'm not going to buy a vehicle because it's a FORD. I want to be the best vehicle for me regardless. It just so happens it's been FORD for countless years but don't think I wouldn't jump ship if I felt the need. Other's here don't ban or hate on that ideology. Other forums will do that all days long....cough cough F150 Forums. We can have an open unbiased discussion on what's on the market pros and cons. You Guys do good work.

Why not a Ford? Out of curiousity.

That's my thought process. They are not Fords, so they both suck LMAO!!. Stick with your original truck.

Sorry @mysticsvt I bleed Ford Blue (well at least for the older stuff). Some of the new stuff Ford is making they can keep (i.e. Mustang Mach E) LMAO!!!!

Saying this forum is like other forums, is like saying 03Sssnake doesn’t have a sickness for the thiccness, Klaus is a broke bastard, Corbic doesn’t enjoy anime porn….Its a damn lie!
