Iat2 placement concern

Yes, that works, and its a good idea. However judging by your screen name you have a 99/01 Cobra which only uses 1 IAT sensor. 03/04 Cobras have 2 IAT sensors. The first one ONLY reads temperature before the TB. It has no control over timing. The 2nd sensor is an IAT/MAP sensor that is in the intake manifold. This reads temp and pressure and controls timing. Unfortunately in an 03/04 Cobras case, the threaded Lightning sensor that you used will not work.


The 03/04 iat2 temp sensors have 4 wires. as far as i understand 2 of the wires go to the map(or whatever sensor reads boost/vacuum) and the other two read air temp...

Couldn't you just take the two wires that read temp and extend them to a lightning iat and thread it somewhere in the intercooler piping? This would give a much better idea of actual intake air temp.

Im seriously thinking of doing this because my car gets bad heat soak at the track and is pulling timing. (my sensor is located in the top of the 99/01 manifold)
