Before I purchase this used blower for my 2003 cobra, I wanted to make sure I know more about it. Is this actually a Gen 1 blower? Or could it be a lysholm whipple? The reason I ask is because the snout milling looks different than what I've seen. Will I have any issues bolting this up to my car? The previous seller also mentioned that it used to have the 3 prong hub which a bent prong caused the blower to seize. Can this actually happen? He has recently switched it over to 4 prongs and mentions the blower now moves freely when spun.

What do you guys think? It also look like the blower snout is on the wrong side. Can it be easily flipped around?

If that's the blower I think it is it's a gen 1. I know the car is came off originally. It didn't seize because of the bent prong. The prong bent because it seized. It did help the car put down over 600hp though

I don't believe he said he switched to a 4 prong hub.

"...I need thid unit gone ASAP! Now accepting all reasonable offers. This unit came off of my '03 Cobra. The unit itself seized while on the dyno. I opened the blower up to examine the damage and there wasn't any. The hub in the final picture originally had three prongs. One prong bent, and caused the rotors to stop turning. I ordered the new hub through Jon Bond Perfomance, for 45.99. The new hub would've made it operational again. I'm going to sell my Cobra, so I no longer need this. You will have to purchase the Whipple 2.3 bolt set to put it back together. I wouldn't suggest using the bolts I removed..."

This was what was posted. I believe that you are selling this blower correct? Does it not have the 4 prong hub?

Do you know why the blower seized up?

It is a Pre Gen 1 Lysholm Whipple 2300ax. What throws me off is the snout on the passenger side instead of the drivers side. I am sure it is out there but I have never seen one. I guess the belt wrap would be the same but may have to use different size belt. I honestly would run and look for a Whipple made Whipple Gen 2 or better or one of the other blower. There are tons of them out there.

Good catch on the snout positioning.....I did not notice that checking out this thread before. That is strange I've never seen that before.

So many reasons to pass on this blower. Don't do it. There are really 2 major components on these cars to not try and save a few bucks....a poor looking used blower and a "budget" fuel system. Those 2 always lead to carnage and headaches soon down the road.

I had a pre gen 1 2300ax whipple and it made 600rwhp. However in this case i would say stay away from that thing. Also my snout was on the correct side.
