I pulled apart the throttle body to paint it. I put it back together and set the voltage. .985 volts But when I crank the truck it idles at 900-1200 rpm. The arm hits the stop screw, but I can twist it back a little and the rpm drops. I pulled the plug on the iac valve and the engine died.

Did you get any paint on the T/B spring?? Sometimes that can hinder the springs movement and maybe not close the blade all the way. I could be way off here, but it's just an idea.

I took the t/b back off and held it up to the light. I saw a small gap on either blade. I rearranged the blades and tried to find the smallest gap. When I cranked the truck back up it ran fine.
