B-12 Chemtool Carb Cleaner agitated with a small wire brush, then followed up with a toothbrush, and then a rag.

Oh so everything is still on the car? It would be better to pull the IMRC's off if you have gotten that far.

You will need to rotate the crank to make sure the valves are closed in the port before cleaning. I am not sure I would use a wire brush on the valves. People that do this cleaning use a wet/dry shop vac to remove the leftover cleaner.

You mean that the primary intake valve is clean, and the secondary exhaust port and valve is gunked up. You shouldn't be able to see the exhaust valves if only your intake manifold is off lol.

It is absolutely worth it. Rotate the crank until the valves are closed, then dump tons of B-12 in there. Let it soak, then take a screw driver and some brushed and get that gunk out of there. Use a shop vac to suck all the B12 out. Trust me, the shop vac method works a million times better than anything else I've tried. Do it a few times until each port and valve is clean.

Then enjoy the extra 50 hp.

Find the appropriate socket that fits the bolt for the crank pulley, attach to a breaker bar, and rotate the crank with the socket/breaker bar watching the valves to make sure they are closed.
