I wanted to share with you my recent upgrades.

I originally decided to install stealth 340s in a returnless system.
I decided to go a different route. I sold my modded FPDM $100 and for an additional $150 I had a lethal budge return system.

I went from 16lbs of boost to 19lbs of boost. I put in two bottles of Lucas Octane Booster. With 16lbs I dyno’d at 597 rwhp and 550 rwtq.

The new setup I got 615 rwhp and 596 rwtq. Not as much as I hoped. The race gas tune was done with MS109. It was making 25lbs of boost on the hit then started dropping off. With the race gas tune it made 648 rwhp and 684 rwtq.

My Current Mods:
Short Block by Pro-line
Whipple 3.4
3.20 Upper with 6.50 Lower 18.5 to 19lbs 93octane+ Street Tune
3.50 Upper with 6# lower for ~25lbs MS109.
Boss 5.0
L&M Diamond 14cc Pistons.
.051 Cometic head gasket.
ARP 2000 Head Studs
Factory Manley Rods
ARP 2000 Rod Bolts
Melling oil pump
Revised 9 thread 03/04 cobra heads – otherwise stock
TR6 – gapped at .022
JTL high boost CIA with factory MAF and Mafia.
BBK long tubes.
BBK x-pipe
Magnaflow cat back with Magnapacks.
Gords HE
4.10 Gears

The setup seems down on power a bit.
The belt slip is definitely an issue with the 25lb setup.
I need to resolve the belt slip issue.
I was looking at the carbonite coating for the pulleys but I have heard it eats belts.
10-rib setups don't look to be possible at this time.
So I have to either lower the engine with K-member spaces or buy a bigger hood to run a bigger upper pulley
I guess I could cut a hole in the hood so I could fit a 4.0" pulley. Saw it done on a GT500 and looked pretty sweet.
I am just not sure about that one though.
Next thing I think I am to do is get some bigger injectors. Either the ford Racing 80lb injectors or the 105s.
I am going to upgrade the JLT to the new style and I am going to get an E-85 tune.

Pretty sure you should be 750+ man.

I would expect that number with e-85.

Even if it didn't drop boost it wouldn't have made that much. I am going to do a compression test and see what that yields.

Some of the things that I think might be hurting power:

1. Belt slip
2. Filter- I cleaned it but its 5 years old now
3. Intake and MAF. I think the new JLT would be best.
4. Degreeing of cams.
5. BBK long tubes - they have a dent in one of the tubes to clear the steering column.

The fuel system is holding you back. The budget fuel system will not deliver enough fuel to support 700 rwhp with E85. Running on E85 will require more fuel to be delivered to the engine (30%?).

To do the Whipple 3.4 justice you should have 465 pumps and 80lbs injectors.
