Intercooler pump

I think stock one rated at about 5 gpm, anyone changed to something bigger? I would think there is a number external pumps running on 12v and pumping more than 5 gpm. Some one mentioned something about running a bus pump? Just don't want to spend $500 on a pump and looking for other options.
