My .02 cents for what it's worth.... That "Shelby GT500's, GT350's, and SGT's" that didn't come straight from Shelby American in NV are not Shelby's. I'm not taking any credit away from Factory SVT Gt500's. I love them and will probably own more than a few more in the future. However, credit where due, SVT built them, Shelby sold his name to Ford for cash. Like said previously, great marketing scheme and sold many more because of the name. This became a catalyst for increased interest in American Muscle (not like there was a shortage before.) Meaning it helped to infuse money into what we all love here, high horsepower American muscle cars. By Ford banding them Shelby's they were able to sell more, increase R&D, put out increasingly better quality products, and keep fanning the flames to where we are now. Seriously think about it, factory cars with 500 hp are considered run of the mill today. That's incredible in and of itself. The money Shelby made from these cars has kept Shelby American afloat and they continue to push out cars as well. Super snakes, GTs etc. So it's good for everyone. SVT has been making Cobras since 93 and have never stopped IMO. So for me it's comes down to this: Product from SVT = Cobra Product from Shelby American = Shelby Sent from my iPad using svtperformance.com
