What internally was changed on the newer design 2.2's that no longer required the use of a catch can?

im running the older style and it works just fine for me. does not leak or eat oil, whines
loud as crap, and makes not much less power than a 2.3 whip! most 2.3 whip blowers are making low 600's at 18lbs and from what ive seen my car is right there with them. mine maid 607 at 16-18lbs before it blew up. i have no clue what it makes with the new motor but since my combo hasent really changed im guessing about the same thing.

There is no diffrence internally between them 2 except snout.You can send your old style to KB and they can put new style snout on it.I'm running old style one and I was told that catch can is not needed up to 18 psi.
